the kyosho spur does not fit
it is also too thick.

I tried...

stick with the steel one, and get an rc-monster pinion and its not loud at all

yeah, but what is the biggest spur I can use? The stock one (i.e. the one that is on it now, I think a 48 will work with the RCM mount?

Since i've never tried to fit a 48 on there and have only gone on the word of dozens of other menbers who've said 45 is the biggest on a stock chassis.......here's a close up photo of my 45t spur. look at the chassis and the gear. do you really think i can get 3 more teeth?

Kyosho has a 45T? I always thought it came only in 44T and 46T.

ok, 46t. I was confused. Do you know if the stock metal spur works, as you can see, we have conflicting opinions, also, will either of the kyosho spurs work?

I am saying YES because I HAVE it INSTALLED and have run it like 10 times no problems....

Did you add the metal spacer under the plastic diff brace? it raises the center diff by 1/4" or so and now clears chassis prefectly

yeah, i put the spacer under the plastic brace. if you say a 48 fits, then i guess it fits. i just wouldn't have thought so after running a 45. i guess most other people who did the conversion just stuck with the 45 the conversion provided.

i'm vxlrocket from the traxxas boards...i hung out mostly in the rusty forum, but i remember you from the revo forum.

to answer your question...yeah. exactly. you'll see once you get everything. any issues, and any of these guys will walk you through it. i'll even take one apart and do a pictorial of the build if you need it, just let me know.

i know you had a revo, right? weren't you the original thread starter of the fastest revo contest?...the 8ight is 1000 times easier to work on. i literally needed no instructions.
any questions, just ask away moose!
