Reviving the dead here... But I have a bunch of Turnigy 2C and 3C 5000mah packs, plus some smaller 2C & 3C packs for my MiniRevo's, that I too neglected for a year straight because I got busy doing other things and took a break from the hobby.
For kicks, I decided to top them all off from whatever capacity they were at the time of the charge, and ran them in each of my trucks for a spell. Recharged them, let them sit for a month or so, used them again, and they were just fine. They haven't seemed to lose any power. Granted, I kept them inside where it was warm the entire time they were idle. But now that I know better, I'm going to put them in storage mode just to be safe.
For the record, my little 1500 & 2200 Zippy's that I use in my MERV's have always been a bit puffy. I'm not sure what it is that makes them that way. Too much power demand from the truck itself or the fact they are just cheap batteries? They haven't really "lost" any power though... but they are a little puffy and became that way very very early on. My Turnigy 3S 5000mah's that I use in my bad boy E-revo have always been a bit puffy too, and seem fine. I think it's just heat. But these cells are 40C discharge cells. Next packs that I buy for my high demand trucks will be the 45-95C like the Nano I just got for my E-XXL.
