I changed to the Muggy b/c I can get more reduction in the driveline of the LST. Also the Muggy is easy to work on, but the LST is even easier to work on with the tdracing mount. Much easier to switch pinions with the tdracing mount than on the Muggy.

With the locked center I think linc is referring to the center gearbox which doesn't have a diff. The Muggy has a center diff. And FOC = forward only conversion.

That mesh looks like it could be a kiss closer if you ask me.

you can get Muggy shafts for your shocks and convert them to sit lower if you wanted. The Muggy handles great though, but is really a different truck. It's more of a track truck I think. You can buy chassis reinforcement braces for it to strengthen it up. I've never really torq'd a Losi chassis ever though. I'm getting ready to convert an LST2. I'm sticking with my Nitro XXL for now. It's too much fun , but will be one of the few Nitro's I have left. I'll be running my LST2 on a NEU 1515 2.5d and 6s! I've got Ti gears for the tranny too, and I'm running FOC (on the LST2). My XXL is stock, except I added a wing.

I just finished up winterizing it, and it'll be put away for several months. When I get the motor mounted this weekend, I'll snap some pix.

I just wish I knew for sure what kind of aftermarket bodies fit the XXL. I've heard the Losi Racer fits, which I have unpainted. I think at 72 Chevy C10 would look killer on the XXL. I have the Blue XXL body, and a Red XXL body, but they are really thin. Plus, they don't make roll cages for the XXL just yet, which is why I'm converting the LST2 first and buying a New Era nitro mount that will get modified to fit an E Conversion.

Good luck!

So, I've got a 59T TiNi Spur I can use. And my buddy says that I'll need a 26T pinion to get the mesh right if using the Dude mount. But I'll be running on 6s. He said he thought that set up was a bit too fast for bashing, so he went up to a 63T plastic spur. But he also swapped out the bevel gears in his LST2 and put the XXL gears in, which also made it faster.

According to the speed calc, if I go with the 59T spur, I'll need an 18-20T pinion to get in the 40-45mph range on 6s. But if the Dude mount won't allow the gears to mesh, I'll have to jump up to a 63T spur and use a 20T pinion. Hopefully that will mesh ok. My friend Tim modded his Dude mount to allow for better meshing.

Looks like most of my batteries will fit in the 45x168mm tray, but then again, they may also fit in the 48x145mm tray. What do you guys tend to use? The RCM trays are nice, but salty!

I put Muggy diff gears in my LST2 and has helped w/ratio and temps running on 5s

Also, Mind I have a DUDER mount but the RCM REVO motor mount would also work in the LST2/XXL(So I was informed) I will try this myself when I get tired of my Slayer conversion ?

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.
