BP-Revo,its not just about the raw power available.its about useable horsepower.the vette and viper has a much better powerband than small dispacement engines which usually have a good peak at about 6000-7000 RPM .japan does build some amazing engines,but its nothing american engines havent matched before.its all about tolerances.the V-tec engines really arent anything special,they are just blueprinted to EXACTING specifications to gain very good numbers.its not like we havent done it already.blueprinted regal turbo-t's have reached 400+ HP oldsmobile nailheads reached 350+hp with tiny ports in the 1950's and nascar has 850HP naturally aspirated and RESTRICTED and they really arent anything special.im not bashing the jap cars engineering but its simple economics. because it is so expensive to do on a large scale over here we generally dont get as high a specified tolerances on our motors....phew...i think my finger tips are bleeding now....--josh
