Geez, what a joke! Lets try to compensate for the insane amounts of power people will be using by adding 2lbs of lead weights to the front. Fricken genius!


I was thinking of possibly using the Tekno mount on 1 of my LST's. Anyone have an opinion here? I would make some adaptor plates like Tekno uses to push the pinion to the spur.

Clearly, the heatsink was designed for use with the Xcelorin motors from Losi and they're actually 39mm as MetalMan stated earlier versus the 36mm I suspected. I would be concerned that there isn't enough room within the heatsink for something like a Castle/Neu at 42mm.

Yep, wheelies are cool. To a point and we all learn this at some point. The issue is they kept the 2 speed and mechanical brakes, so the brake servo is still there in the way of the pack being placed up front. The only other reason I can think of is convenience and cost. It makes the kit a bolt on affair, no modification to the chassis plates for the user, no new plates to manufacture. I was wondering when something like this would be availible, never thought they'd keep the 2 speed + mechanical brakes though. I wonder if the Excelerin could push the truck to decent speeds as a single speed though? Cause Losi would just be shooting themselves in the foot if they came out with a mount that accepted casle/neu motors.

Yay A BL LST but a FAIL none-the-less. Weight needs to be upfront or at least balanced. Then as mentioned there is the inflexable motor mount.

The first picture is what is making me think that there is a possibility that the motor mount might be able to accomodate larger motors - see the shims they show.


And the second one is why i asked about it possibly having a center diff - but that's probably how they change the drive direction.


I sent an email to Losi Customer support asking about the motor dia allowance. Will post as soon as I hear back.

HA...got my FIRST response from Losi today - stated that the size was 40mm x 80mm. Hmmm.....that just happens to be the same as the size of the "tape" shims that they include with the package. I sent a response back asking them to please forward the question to their engineering dept...

Yeah, its not a great set up. Doable, but not great.

Yeah looks alot like my first setup on my Aftershock from FD, whuch works ok on 3-4 s lipo. I tried that setup with the MMM combo in staed on 5s, and it was way to heavy in the back.

I moved the mechanical breaks and moved the batterytray up front. It can still o wheelies ofcourse, but it is way easier to control. Weird that Losi havenīt looked around, to see what works, an even if they didnīt they shoul know...

Finally got an answer on the heatsink diameter.
