The plight off the MMM - 06.11.2010, 12:26 PM

Its really intriguing. I'm sure the MMM has undergone more renditions than most other electrical components in its broad field. CC seems to constantly be looking for new ways to improve. I wish Castle the best! I try not to be a fan boy but they make it sooo hard. lol I've had my V3 for a year and a half this month and its still great! Even with a cracked inductor.

Now, you are going to have to post a datasheet of those 4901's.
The 4901 is a 4933 with a minor tweak done for Castle.

For the monster, the 4108 was the best choice until the 4933 was released. The 4933 had one slight issue, so Onsemi made us the 4901 (which is a house number for OnSemi -- it wasn't going to be used, so they used it for our special version.) And the 4901 won't be available to our competitors.

So now we are using the 4901 in the MMP and the MMM.

So today at the LHS I saw a blue label on the mmpro esc that said "new stock". Is this the one with the latest fet? BTW, my LHS will be calling Monday to get me the lastest MMM.

And Castle is now using the NTMFS4901 for new production (as of about two months ago.) The 4901 is being manufactured exclusively for Castle. The 4901 is a FET that has been tweaked specifically for our application.

Thanx!
Yes I am very interested. Thanks!

Ah, but if I comment on this, competitors will also see -- and it's not very interesting for the general community.

Don't worry patrick, I'm sure none of your competitors visit this part of the forum, nor will anyone here tattle.

Besides, we all know the new FET has infinite drain current, infinite slew rate, zero rdson, infinite gate impedance, infinite D-S voltage, and zero gate capacitance. So, all new ESCs only use 6 FETs total with the wiring and PCB traces being the only limiting factor for ESC rating.

HOW DID YOU FIND OUT??? Dang, I'm gonna have to keep the secrets better next time.

Oh, I forgot to mention -- we are using a new room temperature superconductive coating on the PCB, so the only limiting factor now is wire inductance.

What??!! You mean to say that the 1/4 lbs of copper between the 6 layer board is insufficient??!!

lol, the new MMMMMMMM is the same size as the MMpro, rated for 500A continuous (10KA bursts), 100s lipo (PCB and wire insulation limiting factor), uses no heatsink (100% efficient at all throttle levels), and be programmed on the fly via verbal command or remotely via smart phone.

Hmm, the same ESC can be used in R/C, e-bikes, and even 1:1 conversions.

I gotta get in on the Beta program for this one! Then all I need is a windmill and some solar panels and I can eliminate my carbon footprint almost entirely. I would love to be "all electric" someday.

Oh, I forgot to mention the over-unity braking system we are working on. It returns more energy to the battery during braking than is used during acceleration.
This way we can keep the batteries charged indefinitely. We tap the zero-point energy of the magnetic field generated in the motor to achieve over-unity braking.

Oh, and it won't work on oval, unless you regularly hit the brakes at random. I know what people will ask "why don't you have the controller do the random braking automatically?" -- but the reason is that zero point energy only exists if it is taken by surprise -- and it seems to anticipate microprocessor randomization routines. You can think of zero-point energy as being a "deer in the headlights" type of energy. If it knows you are coming, it makes sure it's not around.

We have, of course, applied for a patent.

Oh gosh its only Tuesday - did you forget to turn on the extract fans in the solder booths?

Wait your lead free...
