Intersting. I guess it is only a matter of time before they find better ways to market unnecessary drugs. They mentioned putting drugs in the water supply, I have heard of that before and that is scarier than the fast food idea.

when i was younger i had a boardwalk from california and got a park place in washington dc on a feild trip. was denied by corprate and shown a rule that says they must be aquired in the same state. total B.S. this was some 15+ years ago or so but needless to say i was pissed. my rc dreams were squashed by unfair rules...

While reading the book Fast Food Nation my eyes were opened to quite a few their business practices and lack of ethics. Did a little more research here and there and have been totally disgusted w/ McDevils ever since.

Other chains definately have issues too. Some work harder thans other to do whats right. Their are a handful that do get my fast food dollars from time to time. Chick-Fil-A being at the top of my list and one the very best out there.

Most FF is disgusting, but Chick-fil-a is the craziest awesome chicken sandwich that has ever been made.

Real whole chicken breast filet, not some chickenish wonder goo that passes for chick sandwiches at the big chains.

IDK if I would call it healthy food by anymeans, but amazing sandwich to have on occasion

Closed on Sundays, never a wait even though are always packed at lunchtime, clean stores, and they always acknowledge their customers with a polite and friendly attitude. Almost like they are happy to be at work and doing what they are paid to do. Imagine that, huh?

Chick-Fil-A is not a typical fried-chicken style FF joint by any means.

We have Church's Fried Chicken but they are not near as popular as KFC and BoJangles.

You've no doubt seen Supersize Me then. It is crazy what passes for food in the US.

Gotta say the Chick-Fil-A is new to me as well. Food options in most of upstate NY is teh crap.

Seriously though, compared to what people were eating 100 years ago, fast food is extremely healthy.

I in know way endorse it as your main diet, but still, to make them about to be evil monsters is kind of silly.

Check out the origins to the poem "peas porridge hot".

Meat was many times eaten raw and was not always the freshest or from an animal most would consider eating cooked and seasoned. To get an idea of what it was like one need only check out the 3rd world countries around us and see what they eat. McD's and the like every day would be a vast improvement for them.

Main issue with people in the US and modernized countries is that we A) consume way to0 many calories be the healthy or not and B) have very sedentary lifestyles compared with others

I actually know some people who lost weight and became healthier incorporating McD's into their diets (not salads) but of course they eat the happy meals and drink water as opposed to super sized double 1/4 pounders with a large soda.

Does anyone here shop local, or organic? I am not too sure of the awareness on this forum. But these corporations not only see this as a monetary concern but a concern of control.

Walmarts exist for a reason, as well as McDonalds. They may have had a meaningful beginning, but the larger they got the more control they can enforce. Generally the bigger things get the more the Government seems to take interest as well. These two hold hands and begin the control over those who have no idea how or what to do to change the existence of this seamlessly unavoidable food choice. With the price and ease why would anyone make things the way we used to back in the day. This IS the true AMERICAN way now. Bullshit!

Same thing goes for stores like Whole Foods, and things like farmers market. Yes most of these folks are lefties but it shows that through choice one has a small make of things. By choosing real food over pre-manufactured who knows what, these stores and community get togethers have been growing in size and numbers. If only we could apply this same type of idea to other larger problems occurring in the States.

Eh, they're OK. I don't see why people go ga-ga over them... As fas as "happy/polite" you obviously have never been around here to any fast food(inc Chik-fil-a)/restaurant/Wally world,etc... Not that I'm a fast food freak or anything, but good service/attitude anywhere, not just in this case, is top on my list. You get what you pay for, minimum/low wage = minimum/low service.
