Non RC - Gaming consoles

Looking for a bit of advice on what gaming console to buy out of PS3, Wii and Xbox 360?
Going to be for the kids mostly - 6 & 8 yrs old.
Don't need internet access, just for playing games bought or hired.
I know the PS3 is Blu ray and the Wii doesn't play normal DVD's.
Wii would be the cheapest but I do not know how the hard drive, lack of, or size impacts on game playing?
I am really a novice when it comes to this stuff.
Looking to buy a DVD player/Bluray as well if I get a Wii all for the second TV donated by my parents(they bought a new one).

Any advise welcomed.
