Did a first test on installing the center diff and mount today. I ended up fitting a rear dog bone from a FLM10700 chassis. I've bought a Losi 8ight-T 2.0 (LOSB0085) center diff and a 43T plastic spur (LOSA3560) as I've heard it will actually fit in between the x-braces. The center diff installed right now is a Ofna 6 Spider (correct me if I'm wrong, Joe).
Today's progress. Had some 16x12x1 shims made and ended up needing 4 of them. The center diff sits tight and near perfect now. The only thing I didn't have was four 24-26mm screws for the center diff mounting plate - could only find three old screws of different lengths. If needed I could still lower the center diff 2-3mm but at the moment 8mm is enough I think.
I will need to use a slightly larger pinion gear or raise the center diff mount by a couple of mm's. The motor can't quite fit as it is now, but nearly there!
Such a massive fan of this build! In the first few pictures of this thread, the angle of the centre drive shafts look like they may bind, but later you can see that the angle is not that bad. Beautiful stuff Gregors!
