Well, they are talking about brushed and brushless.

A sensorless controller is capable of running 2 motors at the same time, it is not recommended though, and not needed either, because when you run on 12-16 cells, one motor is allready powerfull enough to take the max amount of power from the batteries. 2 motors would be very hard on your batteries.

So I guess it is the "equivalent" to the Warrior 7018?

Think 16 cells is slightly restricting now all these cheap cells are about and technology but then again, its the price that could change your thoughts on that. :eek:

Well, this will be more controller than the warrior 7018. Although it won't have the cell count capability (warriors can take 20 cells), it should handle more amps and can also run a brushed motor. It will be a clear upgrade to the 7018 warrior controllers (more programmable as well), aside form the cell limit. Price will of course be a factor in the ultimate value of the controller, but I would expect it to be reasonably priced as well as an exceptional performer. I guess it is tough to really make a comparison until they are available, though.

Got their answer;

The new Phoenix HV controllers will be able to handle 12s lipos (50v), but they were meant for airplanes/helicopters.

I think an e-maxx on 50volts would turn into an airplane anyway!!! :D :D

No, nothing wrong with HV setups.. Takes lipoly's to power them though, but at 50 V, you only need about 20-30A to make it fly...

You can't make an E-Maxx literally fly, I would like to see anyone try though. :D

I have flown mine almost every week. The flight time is only a few seconds, but I have flown it over 30 feet with perfect landings all the time. No wings needed! all you need is a jump!

I got real confused when I read that first line, went back to check I was going on about the right thing, lol.

Should of read your whole post first, lol. Very good.

But I bet you can't make it fly with wings like a plane... no ramps. :D

Sounds like the new Pheonix controllers may be a good ultra high voltage solution. Does anyone have specs on the new Pheonix controllers?

Castles website stills says the Pheonix HV controllers are comming soon. They list three versions, the 45, 85, and 110.
I believe all the Pheonix controllers have brake capability but this is not a requirement for my MT application.
If these controllers can handle 50v then we're looking around 40 cells or atleast a 12s lipo. I just hope the RPM limit is atleast 65k.

I just hope they allow 18 cells, or bring the 16 cell one out cheap.

I can't see them been better than Warriors if they don't, although the Amps might be better?
