The XL is too light. You need a motor that could constantly deliver the 1300 watts, without burning down. I would not make it brushless. Make it brushed.. Easier and much cheaper to drive the blades. unlike with brushless you don't need a speedcontroller, cutting a 2-300 dollars.

Serum - I think you may be missing what I'm saying, at least a little.
I'm not *looking* for this...I already *have* this. I posted the information about the mower because of Dafni's original post about difficulties with gas mowers.
I have the rechargeable mower already and I got curious about it's motor after posting, so I started looking things up about it.
:)

I guess I was wondering if a motor like the one in my mower could be used in an R/C car or truck. Without knowing the physical size and more about it's composition, I'm guessing it's impossible to tell if it would fit and what type of controller would actually handle it.
Not to mention it looks like $130 to buy a replacement. Not too cheap.

In regards to your project, will you have a working suspension on it, or will it be a standard lawnmower in that respect?

Electronics run on smoke... if you let the smoke out, they stop working.

I thought it was to do about making a mower RC, not specific brushless. You can use a brushless motor for driving it around. (if that suits your needs.. :) )

We where talking throwing RC in the lawnmower, not throwing a lawnmower in our RC.. the power is rather nice, but it takes a 8-10 lbs brushed motor to achieve this..

I have got a sick mind when it comes to projects, i guess it would involve some suspension (rc height asjustable hydraulic system (lowrider®©)
