I'd ask Monster Mike to make a custom side peice. (the peice that interferes with the motor)
I believe dremeling the highlighted area will sacrifice structural integrity.
Having a side peice available for 2230's seems like a good idea?
If Mike take custom orders I'd love to buy two side pieces that could accommodate large engines. I have to also take the outermost part of the connectors on the Lehner to make room for it.
Mike - do you do custom jobs? If so please let me know and we can arrange something.
Only way I can see is to dremel away some of the area highlighted in the attached picture. If anyone has another approach please let me know!
Looks like its in there now - whats the issue? Motor wire attachement? Have you tried rotating the can to see if you can get the wires into a better position?

The images I posted earlier with the motor just placed (not attached yet) is of the 2215 and not the 2230 which is the real issue.
This is why I would like to know if Mike takes custom orders. I don't mind paying more as long as it works properly.

It looks like you have a version of the 2230 with the front cooling fan, you might want to contact Neu to see if they can change/replace/trade it for a version without the front cooling fan. My 2230 does not have the fan, and it measures in at ~4.75" in length.

That could definitely be an option. I was not aware that there were two versions of the same motor as this is not described in any product materials.
I will try and give them a call later today. Thanks for the info!
Hi all,
it's been a while since there has been any activity here. I just wanted to let you know that I am by no means stuck with my two brushless bajas. A lot of time has passed with waiting for the Castle large scale ESC but I took the decision to go with the Schulze ESC's when they announced that the 12S version was further delayed. Anyway, here you have a few pics with all the parts. The Turnigy ESC is just put in there for fun - it burst into smoke and sparks after 3 minutes of use... Not all parts are in the pics but most major parts are there. The cars are partly disassembled.
I will start the build soon. There is cancer in the family (father-in-law) and he will not make it so time is not always a luxury I have with a busy job on the side. Anyway, here the pics. If you have made some video or pics of your cars please post them here or link to the site where you have it uploaded.
That was a great moment when the buggy hit the tripod! lol
In the second video what happened to the RCM kit? Great equippment btw!

It was just the back countersunk mount that got broken off. If you watch the video in HD quality and go fullscreen you can see the damage fairly clearly. It can probably be fixed by drilling an new hole or something but it is an exposed area so a rear bumper may be a good thing to consider.
Thanks. I think it's the most powerful setup I've seen to date and as you can see I have a hard time controlling it on the limited space and slippery surface. Putting that kind of power down is not easy.
I very much look forward to testing it on a surface with more grip.
