I was told the ESCs will be shipping out on Monday. If there's any delays I'll let you all know, but I hope they can ship it out. So tonight we will find out.

Using my past experience I ordered x3 Mamba Monster Max and they are sitting brand new in the box unopened - Why? Because I am scared to 'break' them.
I have never purchased a piece of RC equipment and worried about it failing prematurely. If I use the same logic on all my RC gear I should worry about Receivers dying, Gyros failing in $4K Turbine helicopters, speed controllers failing in the large electric models traveling at 70 mph. I have over a dozen of of the ESC's from MGM, BK, schulze and Quark - they too have failed 'occasionally' I am not scared of using them or even abusing them. I am too scared to get the MMM out of the box!!! Maybe if I disable the BEC, use 2S lipo and use a 24 turn motor and run the truck at 5mph I might be OK.
The problem here is that Castle released the V1 and found out it had issues. fair enough that can happen to any company. Then after a considerable delay they released V2 - in the four weeks it has been out it has received a lot of negative presss. Please don't forget this is exactly how the problems with V1 happened. So for those people who want to either live in hope or denial keep this in mind that things may not be all ok. Who knows - time will tell. When you walk into a shop and purchase a Ipod, mobile phone or whatever electronic device for your PC (graphic cards/ processors/,memory) you are not immediately thinking of sending it back after 'playing' with it for 15-30 mins. Lets face it a ESC only works for 20-30 mins contiously at a time - that is minuscule compared to the hours we have all the toys working in our daily lives.
Having to return stuff for repair and wait for weeks is not what the hobby is about. It is about enjoying and relaxing - about creating and innovating. Having to worry about the stress of premature failure, return for repair and worrying if the repaired unit will fail is in my book something I can do without. There are plenty of other things one can do with several hundred dollars invested in the hobby for each truck that can be spent with less stress. Next time you buy that 42 inch plasma screen think about how long you expect it to work out of the box. So I think it is only fair that people from both sides of the arguement see each others view.

Well put. I will say that if you have 3 MMMs then one will most likely be fine. You may have to kill the other 2 to find it though!!!
I have 3 of them, a V1 that is going strong, and 2 V2s. The 2nd V2 seems to be doing fine. My 1st V2 did die after a decent sized jump... And my V1 has some high density foam installed for "pcb suspension"!
I have so many r/cs that it really does not matter if I break most of them. I find wrenching just as relaxing as bashing. I will say that my aftershock is not taking the abuse very well. Time to upgrade to lst2 spec arms and hubs. Pity, as the truck is only 45mins old, and I am already upgrading it....

Linc get rpm arms. The lst2 arms break just as easy, well almost. The other lst2 parts should be ok but they still break.
And as far as the MMM is concerned "Blow'em up and send them back" is my motto. If everyone leaves them sitting in the box castle will never know they have an issue still. I'm in Australia too so shipping is costing me but even with all the shipping costs the car is costing me less then it would if it was running.

I ripped apart a rear toe link, so the lst2 setup looks alot better. I will most likely get the rpm arms after I break some of the stock arms. Looks like I can get a great deal on all of the parts necessary to do the swap. I have not damaged an arm yet, but it is just a matter of time...

My friend was running the LST2 front and rear ends but kept breaking A arms, front toe links and front knuckles. He went rpm a arms and 8t toe links or muggy ones (can't remember exactly but they are off another losi) but he is still breaking the knuckles all the time.

The pimp should have his speed controller in check like his hoe's. You need to get your pimp hand stronger kid.

I will have to check out the muggy links (friend has one) and see if they are beefier. The Lst ones look pretty wimpy, and the ball ends break (plastic tears around the ball). Anyone make good al knuckles? Is there a good brand of al hopups? Not interested in the arms or bulks, but the knuckles look like a good thing to have in 7075 or something like that...

I just asked him what knuckles he wants and they are the new era ones. I asked why and he said because they are the best. I still don't know why but it's worth looking at.

Truckbasher, they do make a real 1/8 scale esc its called an mgm 160.24...just because it's to expensive doesnt mean it aint real. Call mike and ask him what he thinks of the 160.24 he has been brutalizing one in a 12 pound savage on 6s and it never flinches. Just because castle dont have a reliable 6s car and truck control doesnt mean one doesnt exist.
