Thanks traxxasbasher. It looks like the smallest they have in "stock" is a 15T. I'll email them and see if they can make me a 12T pinion.

Hmmm.... Not really. Dan @ KD told me a 12T 32p gear with a 6mm bore would be almost impossible to make since the bore is sooo close to the inner radius of the gear teeth. In other words, it could self-destruct under a high enough load.
I'm far from letting this one go, however. I've gotten the drill case cleared out enough that everything fits inside. That's quite an accomplishment in itself.

Hmm, can you turn the motor shaft down and use a 5mm bore pinion? I made a nifty pvc clamp for my machinist when he turned Paralyzed's shaft down (sounds nasty ) and it turned out fine...

Since 5mm/32p gears are readily available, I'll probably be using one of the 600XLs I have here in place of the KB45. I'll be going "all the way" with 6s LiPo, too.
So now, in addition to being 3 times as powerful as stock, having 3 times the runtime vs. stock, and being BL to boot, it's going to SOUND LIKE A JET!!!!!

Sounds great. We need a vid of this thing, with good sound!!! I have a milwaukee v28 lithium drill hanging around... Maybe I should convert it to brushless... Just need a good 7s capable esc.

Geezus! You have one of those!? I should have known... I was going to get one if this project wasn't working out- I'm both thrilled and depressed at the same time.

Yup, have the drill and circular saw. I like cordless stuff, just picked up a new dewalt 18v nicd and a milwaukee swazall, as 18v nicd. Too cheap to pass up!

No. I have been working on other projects lately. AKA the crawler. I've had Christmas shopping to do, too, so I'm kinda short on cash.
