Not bad at all.... Even with the 1/2" steel ammo.

I thought about changing barrels, but a 20 ga just isn't enough power IMO, unless I use slugs. It's way too long to swing around quickly in tight quarters. I have 2 Jack Russel Terriers (well 1 is the daughter and the father was a Pomeranian) and Yap you wouldn't believe.

In the house we used to live in there were 2 home invasions. In the new house I installed a drop in anchor that I just drop a 3/4" diameter 6" long bar in the hole and if the door is kicked in it will stop the door from opening more than 6", gives you enough time to get your "tools". Plus the alarm since I travel quite a bit. I don't know how many of you guys have taken a girl shooting but in my experience they have done better than my male friends. Kinda funny to see my Sister outshoot my friend Chuck, I still give him crap about that.

Jeff

That wrist rocket is cool I gotta get one of them. We used to hunt Rabbits with them at a friends house, too many houses to be using a .22 or shotgun, we didn't even have to be told by an adult, we just knew. Other friends houses I would use a .22 and my friends always used shotguns. I didn't like picking pellets thats why I used a .22 (plus I am not a bad shot) ;-)

It is a very serious thing to take a persons life. You take everything a person had and everything a person will ever have once you kill them. I do agree the student have every right to defend his home. If they don’t press charges on him (I don’t think they should) his thought and feeling may get to him

P.S I have had a concealed weapons permit for the past 6 years and carry a gun almost every day.

At least in SD, if there are more then 5 native americans on your property you can shoot them. Also, if there are 3 or more native americans walking down the street they are considered a war party and you can shoot them also. Me an a few partially native american friends joke about this all the time.

btw SD doesn't really have too many indians; at least not on the east side. And we don't ride buffalos or sleep in tepees either..

Absolutly it is a VERY serious thing, I would never want to be in this sitsu. It IS a very difficult thing to carry around with you for the rest of your life no matter what the circumstances. But once you come into anothers house you lose ALL your rights as far as I am concerned. I don't care if you are a cat burglar. I have no idea what your intentions are and my Wife and Daughter are my only concern. Everything else will be dealt with later. This is something I do take very seriously, and responsibly. It may sound like I walk around my house with a carbine slung over my shoulder. I don't but I am prepared to take the action if needed.

Jeff

Well said J57ltr I too agree that I will do anything to protect my wife, kids, parents siblings ect.
I just get sick of people thinking that’s it’s no big deal to kill some (even if they are a bad guy). It will and does f**K with a person for a long time

Have you ever actually shot it?

I think you should warn the perp that they will be killed if they don't leave immediately, and don't shoot them more times than needed.

Might as well offer him cookies and milk ?
Do you think he/they are going to warn you befor you get knocked out then steals your stuff or worse yet forces himself on the wife or daughter ?

Common courtesy only goes so far.
If some dumb sumbitch is gonna creep into my house, his ass is grass !
Only thing he's going to hear is a round being chambered and me softly saying, Bye Bye .

More times than needed? How many times are people shot by the cops? It's hardly ever a single round event. In the situation you shoot center mass as many times as needed for the person to hit the ground. You don't shoot someone and ask them are they ok, at this point it is a fear for your life or the life of others and there is no turning back at this point. You never shoot to wound you shoot to kill no other reason to pull a gun you don't give warnings you don't even know how many people are in the house.

What if you were to ask this person to leave and they do and they go down a few houses and end up killing everyone in the house in their sleep. You never know what someone is capable of you don't know what they are going to do next.

My goodness this idiot (in the original article) was out of state jail on Saturday and it was how long before he broke into this guys house and stole 2 laptops and a gamebox. Was it Monday just 1 full day later (Allegedly), then he returned. This kid had a sword and the guy lunged at him, do you think it would have been any different if he had a gun? I doubt it.

We had a case here in Houston and I don't remember the exact details, but The neighbor saw 2 guys breaking into the house next door. He was waiting on the phone with 911 and told the operator since the police weren’t going to get there in time he was going out to stop them. He took his shotgun outside and told the guys to get down, they wouldn’t and I think one of them lunged at the guy with the shotgun. Both suspects were killed because they made threatening moves. There was a big uproar about this case, but it had nothing to do with what these guys were doing. The guy wasn't charged but paid for protecting his neighbor’s house in the ensuing flap over these 2 creeps. Had to get a lawyer and I am sure it cost him a pretty penny dealing with it. Here in Texas you have a right to defend yourself, others and property and that's how it should be.

I feel sorry for people in other countries that have to deal with not having the right to protect ones self. Some of you will say just call the cops, well the cops just can't beam over and catch this person and response times are anywhere from a few minutes to over 30. Things happen in the blink of an eye and everyone should have the right to protect themselves and their property. Some may say "it's just property you can always replace it." What if it's your sole means of transportation to get to work? "You might say take a bus." Doesn't work like that when you get 25 miles outside the city, besides you take a bus!

I am not directing this at anyone in particular just saying what I have heard from others that think guns are evil and all that crap. Gun laws are crap they don't stop or deter crime. It's already against the law to break into someone’s house but it happens all the time, criminals it seems these days have all the rights and they don't follow the law so no matter what happens they will always have guns themselves, you have to protect your own.

After something like this happens you will always second guess yourself, what if I did this, what if I did that. What if my Daughter sees all the blood, what about my Wife? It’s a traumatic experience and once you pull that trigger there is nothing you can do to bring that bullet back, nothing in this world.

Jeff
