Well I started to put together my FLM Hybrids Bulkheads today, but befroe I went at it I just checke dto make sure everything fitted together, it doens't.

I using the HB diffs, got my revo stubb axle that I'll be using as out half shaft as I'm using CVD's aswell, not changed the out put cup to the to stubs yet.

Any way here are pics of the hyrids and the problems.

As you can see in the inset, I have marked it red, its too thick the bearing will not go into it.

And here its like FLM never finished the job, marked in red, the opening it way too small.

Now I'm assuming that they all use the same bearing size and not different size bearings for different sides of the truck? Any idea how to fix this without having to send it back to FLM. I'm living in Ireland and it'll take forever, expecially at this time of year.

Apart from the problem shown they are fine the Diff fits into the other side of the hybrids. Well at least I think they are fine, not been able to close them up to tell if there are any other problems.

I'm asking around the forums, so any help would be great.

So the holes for the bearings are different sizes on each side? That looks like you got the Combo bulks instead of the Hybrids- the combo bulks use 3906 or 3905 diffs; the 3905 diffs use a different size bearing on each side of the diff....

Oh Great!!! I'm totally lost now, if those SOB sent me Combos instead of Hybrids I'm not going to be happy The god damn Fastlane website isn't any help either, they are using the same pics for both the combo and hybrid and the same description. Because they were Anodized they didn't come in the package, they were in bubble wrap and all the screws etc were in a ziplock bag.

OK so the Combos, dont use 1/8th scale diffs?? They use 3906 or 3905 diffs with the diff case?

Yep, Combo for stock diff, Hybrid for 1/8 diff.

Tell me about it- lack of upto date/ item specifc images has always been a pain in the r/c world, makes me have to 2nd guess everything I look at sometimes.

The last 2 pictures you posted especially make me think those are combos and not hybrids- the hole/ recess for the bearing to sit in should be exactly the same on each half - Im gonna assume when you tried fitting the bearings that came with your 1/8 diffs, one side was fine, the other isnt even close (not just a tight fit which is normal, but a good 1mm or more too big to fit)?

If thats the case, FLM should sort you out, but getting hold of them is a pain quite often. Just keep the emails civil to avoid them blanking you..

And yes your right, one side is fine the other is way off.

Last night I managed to find the invoice that came with them, it doesn't say if its a Combo or Hybrid but it does have a product Number FLM10200 & 10300. Nothing on the FLM website about them, I did find an link from there old site mentioning the number, but of course the link is dead. Only other place I can find anything about these numbers are from Stormer Hobbies, https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/c...ns&pn=FLM10200 It says Hybrid, but I'm not too sure, doesn't give any details.

Have sent a nice email to FLM, including the pics, so hopefully they get back to me.

Normally, the worst you expect to find with FLM parts is that the recesses for bearings arent quite deep enough, causing binding issues with things like the 3906 tranny case and hybrid bulks; your issue looks like they packed the wrong parts rather than them being not finished correctly.

Have you come across the part numbers 10200 & 10300 though? If there are at least 2 places selling them as Hybrids there must be something to it? Suppose I'll wait and see if FLM get back to me, sickened I didn't check for fitting when I got them

Emailed FLM last week, not heard back so I emailed again today telling them that it wasn't a fitting problem it was acutally the wrong Hybrids and could they change them for me.

I got a reply saying they would change them, I just have to pay for shipping $13 or $35 express. Then I asked if they could Anodize them, got a reply saying Yes.... for $60

Another reply from me, asking if she could do any better! Still waiting!!

Anodising isnt cheap- its done by the basket full, rather than by individual parts, so the more parts in the basket the cheaper it works out per piece over all; total cost will still be $60. Seeing as its their error though they should make it right for you- wrong parts/ faulty parts sent out et all that jazz....

Yeah the girl I was onto said they dont Anodize the parts and thats what the place charges them, so the cost would be passed onto me!! So decided against it, will see if I can get it done locally or maybe Powder coated or something. Not a big problem, but would have liked the black to go with everything else, but I suppose performance is more important than aesthetics.
