I just told them they were Flux center dogbones and the center of pin to center of pin dimension.

They look like dogbones, only one way to find out if they will hold up :)

Been trying to get the center diff mount plate made. Had a couple of goes and couldn't get it precise enough. So cranked out a CAD drawing and had one cut by water jet locally. $40 AU including material and prototypes. Somehow i measured everything right and the first one was perfect anyway . There are some small imperfections from water splash as the Al is too soft to resist but nothing that affects it functionally.


Test fit of slipperential and cross braces, feels solid. The cross braces overhang the plate a bit so that the RPM skid plate will fit in.

looks really good!!! how are you going to mount the motor to the slipperential?

Motor will be mounted to a TVP using a Tekno motor mount. See post #6.

how easy will it be to adjust gear mesh doing it that way? and what gearing are you going to run?

Are you getting custom drive shafts made up? and if you dont mind, how much are they costing?

Adjusting mesh will be like on the standard flux except the motor mount will be able to move up and down on the TVP. Should be much easier than the standard Flux as the motor mount bolts will be on the outside of the TVPs.

I really like your mounting method!!! REALLY LIKE IT!!!! it is secure, strong and has complete support over the motor.

These other methods such as using bolts to screw into the motor still continues to worry me! From some of the landings i have had, i doubt that two screws would be able to hold my heavy 1520 motor from the hard landings and cart wheels.

Thank you for your idea... im just going to have to see if it works with my TVPs... if not i will have to work my around it. (this is also a cheaper option than buying the RCM Mount!

It also means you are not limited to what spurs you can use and there will be no shimming problems... Looks like the best option...hmmmm

Its looking really good!!! Very impressed!!! are you going to cut out partsin the chassis or leave as is?

Yes, there will be cutout sections in the TVps to lighten their weight. I should be able to get them down to near the weight of the Savage XL TVPs which is about 115 gms each. Currently each TVP weighs in around 200 gms.

I'm hoping the finished truck will be similar in weight to the original Flux even though it's XL length.

Fired it up for the first time tonight. No smoke, all good. The slow speed smoothness of the Tekin system is awesome. So keen for a drive this weekend. Still have a few minor things left to do on the TVPs but they can wait

yea i heard the tekins are good for that... my cc motor coggs quite a bit, but i dont care really as i just bash...

I really want to see a vid of this performing with the CD and see how it transforms the handling....

What weight oil are you running in it?

I'm a basher and i have used 100K fluid in the CD. So I don't really expect the CD to change the handling much. I've seen 100K used in a slipperential in another conversion and it could still easily do wheelies.

Got a short drive in this arvo after work on the driveway. All good except the slipperential was slipping a lot. Tightened it up twice which helped but still slipping too much. The springs are nearly fully compressed so there must be something wrong. Might have to pull it apart yet again to see whats happening.
