So easy you won't want to run anything else

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

UBEC wires melted with 4S Lipos - 12.30.2006, 07:48 PM

Guys, I just ran my 4S setup and my UBEC wires melted, I thought it was a fluke, re-wired and it ran slow after a full charge an the same thing happened again. My setup is MMax with feigao 7xl motor, I ran my UBEC input wires straight from the 14V Lipos and the neg wire keeps frying. anyone see this B4?:035:

Welcome to the forums ;

That is odd, why not try putting the UBEC positive to the esc positive and UBEC negative to the the esc negative.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

UBEC wires melted with 4S Lipos - 12.30.2006, 08:16 PM

Thanks Sylvester, I think that's what I've done, the UBEC pos and neg are soldered to the battery pack pos and neg and they are connected to the ESC input Pos and neg, I'll try soldering them straight to the ESC input wires in case I have a bad connection, but somethings drawing way to much current, check our my neg wire.

It may be that when you hook the batts up.
You are touching the red wire first. That would let the ubec be the ground.
I can't tell much by photo. Wires are everywhere.

Welcome to the forum though.

Peace!

That doesnt look too good. Try just connecting them to the esc main wires and try again. BTW, what UBEC is that? If that isnt working too well maybe try the one mike sells.

Believe it or not it doesn't say who makes it, a friend gave it to me, it just says 3A switch mode UBEC, I can't read the japanese, it still works though.

Well, if the problem persists, Id try a UBEC off mike, it should work flawlessly.

Are you wiring the bec to the esc??? You want to go from the bec to the reciever battery input. You don't have to power the esc, it will power itself without the bec.

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...
