Im fairly impressed. Check out the youtube vid of the esc & motor system in their 1:10 4wd truck- the brakes seems to very good, and no signs of cogging either. Top speed isnt too bad either = 43mph. This isnt with the 120amp esc though, but a 50amp 3s version.

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I blew a FET today. I didn't even get to race it. Mucho sucko. I used the mamba as a replacement, which handled 6s1p A123 ok. It shutdown once.

I might of gotten a fluke. I'm sending it back for a replacement and requested upgraded caps.

I received mine over the weekend and decided to install it into my x1-cr buggy on 5s to see what happens. I was running an 8XL/MM set-up on 4s at 16/48. Speed was good, but on 5s my MM would always shut down. Tossed this in there and it ran great for about 5 minutes. I didn't run anymore than that, because I didn't want to push it too much today. No problems on 5s with the stock caps so far. I'm very pleased with this esc. If it can push my 1/8 buggy around, then I'm sure it'll have no trouble in my little boat.

I just ran the 30a and 50a versions around with a 4400kv outrunner. Startup was decent, but I noticed a lag as compared to nicer controllers. The startup when wedging a tire was really bad too, along with the low speed resolution. The larger ESC will have a place until the MMM comes out, but the smaller ones aren't really worth the time IMO next to a M25 or Sidewinder. I just need to find some little heatsinks for my m25. These MF esc's may do better on 2 pole slotless inrunners. The motor that came with the 120A controller looks decent. The airgap is pretty wide though, so I imagine the efficiency isn't all that great. Good cheap motor though I suppose.

The size of the 120a controller really suprised me. Sucker is a Hoss!

Here are some pics of the esc in my buggy. I'm debating on keeping it in there. Although its not the best quality, its not bad either. I do need another fan though... this esc really is a beast in size. The fan is 30x30mm and is perfect for the MM; but this esc makes it look... well... rather lacking.

The motor is a hextronic I think. They aren't bad, and for the price they are outstanding. Don't know what I'm going to do with it if the esc stays in the buggy... but its nice to have around. Could be an excuse to buy another car....

edit- one more thing I noticed. Even at the lowest start power and timing, my car has very little low end control. An adjustable throttle curve would be nice.

The second sentence almost made me fall out of my chair from laughing so hard!

So the FET's are 25V right? They look easy enough to replace if you can find some 35V or 50V ones in a TO-220 case. That would be pretty cool. I would actually pay $85 for an ESC brain board. But getting a motor with it is nice, NVM the LCD programming card.
