ok... well i just made a deal to sell one of my buggy rollers. im gonna use the money to get a brusless system... ive got $280 to spend.
soo.. if im running 14 cells i should get the 9920 controller, and a 9xl? is that correct?
what about the mamba monster maxx set up, anyone have any info on it by chance? i wonder when it will be available?
its been hyped for quite some time, i tried to get up with troy at bishop power products... but i got no response? i wonder if that means its behind schedule...:mad:1

To my knowledge, no one besides Castle employees know what's going on with the MMM, so it'll be the same with CC's dealers.
Personally, I would prefer a Mamba Max over the 9920. Here are the pros as I see them:
-cheaper
-much better customer support
-smaller
-MUCH better programming
-less cogging
-more durable (at least in my case, I went through two 9918s, and am still using my original Mamba Max)
SH Z-Car, Custom Crawler, 8s Savage, 12s XTM XLB 1/7 buggy, 4wd 4-link rear/IFS Pro4 truck, Custom Hyper 10 Short Course, Belt-Drive Mammoth ST 1/8 truggy, 4s 17.5 MM Pro HPI Blitz

I agree with MM on the MM:005:, also which 14 cells are you going to use? If they are the 1500's and 3000's you mentioned earlier in this thread, I would get better batteries before you even get the brushless system. If you are set on 14 cells I would definitely get GP's or IB's.
Here is the set up I would run:
Mamba Max
feigao 8xl
Good 14 cells (or 4s lipo)
UBEC
...and if you do get new batts, I would highly suggest you look at lipos. I will never switch back to nitro now that I have brushless and lipos...

im afraid to poof up lipoly packs!! lol.. ill be jumping this truck pretty big, and this aluminum chassis seems like it would be hard on those fragile batts?
i ran liops on my minis and loved them, im just worried about ruining them in the maxx?
could ya give me a link to the lipos i shoud get, im not very educated about them. i just buy what people link me to!! lol..

I run 5s maxamps 4000's in my converted LSP pro, I have the lipos in a battery tray that I made with aluminum angle and polyester. I have covered the tray with foam and I have had no problem, even with a couple of crashes/rollovers

I have two MM's and a third going in a stampede, they are very rugged. I have one in a T4 with their 5700 motor and have pretty much run the truck into the ground, the mamba has never hiccuped, the other one runing is in a G2R revo with a 9XL and maxamps 8000 LIPO's, it has been fed a steady diet of 4s (14.8v) and tires and diffs ;) . on 4s its good for about 30, but i plan to try 5s and try for 40+, Mine is a dedicated racer with mild bashing, for the more extreme bashing you may want a 7 or 8XL. With the fegaio/ mamba setup you're looking at about $220.00 here at the monster
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

How many amps can it charge at? How many lipo cells can it charge?
For example, I have a duratrax ice charger it has a max of 8 amps and 4 cell lipo. So the biggest pack I can charge is a 8000mah 4s lipo. You never want to charge a lipo past 1c (ex: 4000mak at 4amps...) So if your charger charges at a max of 2.5 amps it would take around an hour and 20 min. for a 2500 mah pack. If you were to charge a 5000mah pack at 2.5amps it would take probably over 3 hours to fully charge...
I found your charger HERE and the biggest pack you can charge is a 2500mah 3 cell lipo. I would suggest getting a new charger like THIS
Hope this helps!
Bye:018:

damn... need a new charger now too huh? wow this is gonna cost a fortune to make an emaxx do 30mph? im truely stunned... every one says how much faster brushless rcs are? looks like ill have to spend over $400 on the power system to get a truck that goes 30mph? ive never had a nitro that goes less than 30!! even with a cheap $100 japanese motor!!
i guess ive been misinformed... not by you guys tho!
im beginning to rethink this whole emaxx thing, maybe i should get out now before its too late!! lol.. ive already got $500+ into a truck that goes like 20mph, now ill have to spend that much more to make it go 10mph faster:020: .
you guys are crazy!! lol...:007:
well thanks for all your help and advise guys, but im not sure im interested in persueing this any further, im not a rich man and i have rent to pay... nitro offer twice the bang for the buck, i now know this for a fact!
i can make any nitro do close to 50mph for $500!
anyone want to buy an emaxx with a flm chassis and buggy shocks!! lol..
if anyone needs any help with nitro just let me know, thats my world. i think im going back to it!!:005:
well.. thanks again for all your help guys, i really do appreciate it.. but i just cant justify spending that kind of loot on a maxx that does 30mph. a stock tmaxx is faster than that!:002:
i guess ill use the money from the buggy i just sold to get a crt!:027:
this whole electric thing has left a bad taste in my mouth...
bums me out...

Only One Change From Me.
Use The Feigao "c" Series With The Built-in Cooling Fins. Only A Few $$ More But Stays Cooler, Has A Threaded On End So The Motor Does Not Fall Apart In A Hard Crash.

hey thanks bud... im feelin down on the maxx at the moment. this hobby is sucking the life outta me!
i already got the bec, but damn... another $500!! ouch..
so if i were so just use NiMh packs could i still get decent speed, say 14 cells? at least then i could spend less loot on batts, and i wont need to buy a $150 charger.
id have to come into some easy money to justify spending a grand on an emaxx... ive already got around $500 in it and its not really even that nice!! crappy diffs, plastic bulks still, plastic shock towers... i havnt even installed the revo axles yet, got most of the parts tho..
unfortunatly ive made some poor rc decisions lately, i cant afford another one.
the statement up above "at least the motor wont come apart in a bad crash" WHAT!!! come apart? thats not what i need to hear right now... i hammer on my rc's, i cant have something that will fall apart in a bad crash... ill break that the first day out, and right now i dont think i would be able to control my temper and avoid smashin the maxx to little bits!! lol..:mad:1
i wish i could find some used stuff...
