Thats a Stobe slipper and sprong, uncertain about the actual spur though (anything similar looking can be made to fit I believe though).

Cheers so much for those Jordan, that truck really is a thing of beauty. funny thing though, I know a few years back someone was selling Carbonfibre motor mounts for the stock emaxx; if they are made from the 'good' CF and not cheap ebay stuff, they dont flex and are much lighter than stock items. An interesting idea to make one, especially if I can find a suitable scrap/offcut of CF on ebay...

Nice looking rig...

Man I wish UE would start selling those 6mm CVDs again. Any word if there are plans to do so?

Don't you mean 8mm cvd's? Theres a few sets of both 6mm and 8mm cvds on ebay at the moment. I highly doubt though that UE are going to be producing NIP sets anytime soon...

I'm not too sure if i should get the RCM slipperential when it comes out. It will obviously boost performance, but it'd break my heart to see the tranny and slipper setup I have go. Especially the strobe/sprong as they're fairly rare items now...

thanks for all the comments, i really appreciate it, i'll definately keep you guys updated as the build rolls on

hmm... i'm not too sure what tyres to get. At the moment it is between the Bow-ties or the Mulchers, both 40 series.

Just to paint a picture, I'm going with 40 series wabash wheels dyed black, a gunmetal grey JConcepts Tango body and a black ofna hi-force wing. Which tyres do you think will match this truck the best??

Please feel free to leave your opinion (as i'm incredibly confused!! )

No...I meant 6mm shafts...that's what I use in two of my trucks. But okay. 8mm UE shafts would be nice too!

I definately agree, no matter what axle is on the shaft, the UE cvd's are one of, if not the strongest cvd's around for the maxx

any comments on the great tyre dilemma??

badlands, tho being great tires, would look strange on the truck

as the truck has a wing and will have a racing body I would go for racing tires. I would go for axial terrarizers for series 40 wheels.

I've seen lots of folks run Badlands on gorilla chassis setups...I think it looks cool-IMO. Now if you want strange...I have a truck that has 40 series Moab XL...I can't wait to wear those tyres out...they look silly.

Updates Updates Updates!!! - 03.11.2008, 08:49 AM

well, its been a while, but i just got my order from impakt yesterday consisting of:

Hitec 5955-tg steering servo
Dynamite Alum servo arm
Proline 40 series Wabash rims
Proline 40 series Bow ties
OFNA 1/8 hi force spoiler
Jconcepts illuzions tango body for Revo 3.3
RCM mod1 pinions (18 and 19t)

So far i've mounted the steering servo, manged to bur the screw holding the servo arm on, not happy... Trimmed the body and put the first coat of paint on, even though the body looks awesome, i would think twice about getting one again as mounting it was an absolute nightmare. The rear body posts come up through the corner of the rollbar sections, not on the tray, so its a little tricky to get it right. Probably has something to do with it being for a Revo. And I mounted the spoiler.

I had an issue with the rims, where on the inner rim of one of them there seems to be a moulding defect, which weakens the rim as it can buckle really easily. I've contacted proline on it, and hopefully it won't hold up my build too much...

Anyway, here are some pics

Package arrived!!

Servo/Alum servo arm

Truck with the spolier mounted:

Damaged rim:

Thanks for looking, i'll kepp you guys posted as the body is finished and the rim issue is sorted out!!

Oh yes, the Revos' body posts are a touch closer together front and rear, so I can see why that would be a pain. If you hadnt already made the holes, I might have suggested something like a cross-bar between the rear posts, then mount some stubby body posts onto it (screwed on from underneath maybe, or some velcro even, much like the crawler guys do sometimes....

That wing looks seriously nice on the truck.

same problem with my tango :), so I just use single rear mount secured by tie wraps. works well

it wasn't so much that i had already drilled the body, but i had already cut down the body posts, and to get them off i had to take the shocks off. Also because they were rear posts, there were no holes for the cross bar. Just a bit of a hassle. It fits ok now, i'll definately post some pics when its mounted.

wallot, thats a great idea mounting the single post in the middle of the DUH tower!

so i don't think i'm going to hear anything back from proline

I'm going to try and use some silicone based filler and patch up the hole. Hopefully it should hold. Do you guys think this will work? Have any other ideas on how to patch up a rim?

thanks
