They have even got the mods on RC tech to remove the jang test video and all related topics and posts from the forum. Pretty sad. Not suprised though after meeting Brandon wilcox at rcx. Smacked of arrogance and talked to me like I wouldn't know my ass from a hole in the ground, but I guess the people that are buying there stuff are that way. There were a few people on rct that were defending them but had no data or evidance to prove otherwise. Just the usual my car is the fastest in the world and dumb stuff like that.

He didn't come across that way when he started posting here. I reckon the amount of BS he has had to put up with might've changed his atittude some (not lots).

Now thats pretty sad. Using their clout to drowned out any comparible perspective just because it is not in their best interest. Facts are facts and you can not hide from the truth. It will always find you one way or another. Look I am sure that the Maxamps packs are useful to some degree, but in comparison to the rest of the market their cells are just not holding up very well. And the fact that they are charging more for a lower grade product is just down right dishonest. I wonder if anyone has reported them to the BBB?

Maxamps must have threatened a lawsuit or something!
It doesn't matter though. You have to see through the smoke.
In this sue happy society, you can sue anyone for anything, but that doesn't mean you're going to win!
That's because you have to Prove things. Just remember, it isn't slander if it's the TRUTH!

I wonder why that only happened on rctech? That video is posted everywhere. Are they a sponsor on rctech or something?

Its funny -

Isn't it funny though. I mean think about this, really. If it were not true, then Maxamps would simply post a dispute and kill the rumors or posts that slander their reputation. The mere fact that all they did was have to video removed proves that the video shows the truth. They can not dispute the video, because there is no way to dispute what was in the video in the first place. We all knew their cells and advertisements were a bunch of lies, and not everyone can see it for real in this video. I see a sinking ship that is going down fast. So what do they put in their next resume'? Scam artist, liar, thief, flame sticker professional?

On No! You can bet that's going to be over-rated and exaggerated too.
More like "Marketing Professional".

With all the Misdirection truth burying and repeated lies they have a PERFECT Resume for a State senator or Congressional position.
Sad thing is they'd probably be hired ><

They never can dispute anything, only deflect and argue. Much like a politician as Team Pie so nicely pointed out.
I beat all of their arguments and Austin still never conceded to me.
The first major argument is that people simply can't afford them so bash them on that basis. Well seeing as I have owned their packs along with packs from Flight Power, Hyperion, Thunder Power, and Neu that argument hardly works.
The next is that I did something wrong. Well, seeing how the other packs stood up to the exact same setups the MA packs didn't, that argument falls flat.
Then it's I did not charge/balance them properly some how. I use the same hyperion balance chargers they sell so again, dead argument. Then add in the fact my other packs are fine.
Then you have the argument from them I am some how biased. I don't see how as I have no vested interest in any RC company. I am in it to play and that's it. The only ones who could possibly be biased in the argument is Austin since he owns MA.
As for the warranty, good luck with that. Even when I had an almost immediate failure (the pack puffed and would not charge to half the rated MAH and voltage would not peak) they only offered a slight discount on a new pack. Whoopee!
I even have some of their more recent packs that I got in deals with vehicles I bought and they are still poor performers. The 2000 mah 3s crawler packs from MA don't run any longer than my 1300 mah sky lipo 3s crawler packs.
Anyway, none of this including the video surprises me one bit. It's all par for the course with MA.

actually, they recently became a sponsor of rctech, so that would be why anything negative against maxcraps is now being removed on rctech. the way i see it is they are buying out these forum sites because the truth is being pointed out about how bad of a value their packs are. if they are sponsors of a forum site, say, rctech, they can demand that anything negative about them is removed in order to maintain sponsorship. their goal with this is pretty obvious: block all negativity toward them while still making their outrageous claims, so that the noobs and "unaware" people continue to waste their money on their sub-par overpriced packs.
i am in no way biased toward brand names, but i have yet to see any maxamps packs perform anywhere near what they are rated for. i have a pair of their 2s packs that i acquired in a trade and while they are rated at "30c", they are actually more like 5-6c packs. in my evader ext2 (a very light 2wd 1/10 truck), they drop voltage so badly that they will start to hit the 3v/cell LVC on my sidewinder only 2 minutes into the run and slowly hit it more and more from there. my 3 year old tenergy 6 cell 4200mah ni-mh pack holds voltage better than those maxamps packs. i only use them in the evader because they simply cannot handle anything more and since the punch is so weak on them, i don't have to worry about drivetrain issues
also, by the way, they are 3000mah 2s packs that i run in parallel (6000mah 2s2p) in the evader and they will still temp at over 110F geared for only 40mph with a weak brushless setup. they are so weak that when i charge them at 1c, they will increase about 5-10F above their starting temperature. i usually only charge them at .5c. and they only take about 1800-2100mah in a full charge. i have a single 2200mah 2s 20c turnigy lipo that runs cooler and has more punch than those packs combined. surprisingly, they only puff slightly during the run and go back to almost solid after charging.
also, i once ran an almost new "60c" i think 6500mah 4s pack in my brushless 1/8 buggy geared for 38mph and it got up to 145F and swelled up pretty bad. i apologized to the owner of the pack, but he even agreed with me that that pack sucked, despite it costing over $200. i then let him run my 20c 5000mah turnigy lipo and he said the punch on it was waaay better than his maxcramps pack. he now only runs turnigy and hyperion packs.
i've also seen a pair of savage flux battery boxes ruined due to the maxcraps packs swelling to the point where the boxes broke open on the sides.
sorry about the ranting, but that is my experience with maxamps, not to mention the various escs and puffed/vented maxamps packs that i have seen and most of them were only run in slashes, rustlers, and other 1/10 vehicles.
They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

I think its really funny that MA sends out thank you cards to their customers. People think that shows "excellent customer service"
