My wife just got a new Camera and she wanted to test it out so she was all excited to go down to the track and take photos of my buggy

Well went down to the track today but unsure on what run time was I wasn't really paying attention, was more concerned about try to keep the temp down. I changed the timing from 10 degree down to 3 degree and cut a large hole in the front cover to get more air flow to the bearing. After about 8 minutes of running I bought it into the pits to check the temp and the motor was up at 170F, ESC at 128F and battery around 105F. Going to know change to 0 degree motor timing and put a larger 15T pinon in instead of a 14T which is what I have in at the moment. I will also change the centre diff fluid from 5000 (standard in the roller, non roller is 7000) to either 7000 or 10 000 but don't have the diff fluid yet, still in transit.

Well I tried to grind down the Motech Skid Plates down on the very front so I could put them on. Didn't end up working so I have the front skid plate just held up on the 2 rear screws. See how that goes. Got no problem with the rear one, only the 2 screws up the very front with the bumper. 8-32 x 1/2" is the longest screws I could find with a flat head and that is what the chassis already has.

Took it down to the track today. Temps stayed around the 165F mark, it did get up to 176F at one stage. After 28 minutes of running (on same battery) the motor came loose and stripped some of my spur gear. Im not going to run it again now until my Diff Fluid arrives. Will be changing from F 3000 C 5000 R 2000 to F 7000 C 10 000 R 3000. Have no issues at all with the MMM. Running strong as and temps are pretty low 115F mark. Awesome ESC, standard fan is strong running strong aswell. Was expecting more issues with the ESC than the motor with this build.

Keep the updates coming. It's good to hear how this is coming along. What are you going to do about the spur gear.

I got a new Kyosho 46T in my cupboard that I bought for a spare incase anything like this happened. The one currently on the buggy isn't completly stripped but makes a loud noise now when driving

Hay DB,
I've got a 46T I can ship you off a XRay if you want to pay for the postage (?).

Your call either way, regardless I must say that I enjoy reading your updates, I feel your pain.

Have a great 4th..

Shaun.

Diff Fluid arrived today. Ordered from Amain and it arrived here in Australia in 1 week (not express) Changed my mind and going to leave the rear at 2000, put 5000 in front and 10 000 in center. When I pulled my center diff apart there was no much fluid in there at all. Won't get a chance to test it out today. Had alot of rain over the last few days so track is probably still wet.

Well finally the rain went away and I managed to get down to my local track. Using the 13T pinion and changing from 3000 in front diff and changing 5000 in centre to 10 000 couldn't wait to see of the changes. At 10.32am I was going out of the pit lane and flying down the main straight. At 11.17am I was driving back into the pits as battery was starting to run slow. 45 MINUTES OF RUNTIME I never had to turn off the battery once, just kept going and going. Temps were Motor - 160F, ESC 111F & Battery 108F. I checked the voltage of the battery with the multimeter and it was 16.45V. I charged up this battery about 3 - 3 1/2 weeks ago. Back to work tomorrow, so not going to be able to use it for another 5 days.

TP 5S 5000 25C. I was probably flat out racing 60% of the time, 38% was doing sections over and over trying to get the right line and the other 2% was on my roof from landing wrong.

That’s assume DB…. It great to hear that you truly enjoying your build and that you’ve finally got your temp under control.

So when are you going to install 30k in the center diffs if nothing just for experiment reasons..

Nothing!.. Hahahahaaa..
