Yusa buggy?

Hmmm - the motor mount works great however - the rear brace needs to relocated or extended so it links up with the diff towers. Can't fit run a small pinion without having the edge of the motor bump into the brace. I may work fine for typical gearing, but I want some extra flexibility. I will keep you posted.

The Nitro Powered Yusa Project Buggy



Of course we needed a nitro powered buggy control for our little experiment. Just to assure I didn't have any screamers in the group complaining that I used some under powered mill, I installed a beast of a motor.

Obviously a .21 is the standard buggy, but I used a factory .26 Hot Bodies motor to give the Nitro version quite a bit more extra power and HP. Some will notice I swapped out the spin to start adapter for a pull start. No, I am not a masochist, the mill turns over pretty easily and I hate caring around a spin start unit or starter box everywhere I go. I found a Sportwerks Buggy body on clearance for around $10 and made the modifications needed to make it fit. The steering servo was the same Tower Hobbies eBay special that was installed on the other buggies and a Hot Bodies unit takes care of throttle and braking duties.

Nope. That's the entire engine and clutch assembly from the a dual engine Hot Bodies GTX2 and holly cow it's freaking insane, I can only imagine yours with that Infinity .27. It does need to go up a tooth or so...and the split clutch unit kinda sucks. I'll probably just use the included Yusa clutch assembly. After about 20 minutes doing some tuning,I ran it yesterday around the golf course behind my house in the hard pack snow and had a blast.

Also notice the extra cross lines I milled in the head. As I was overhauling the engine for the re-build I figured why not.

any of you guys opened up the diffs yet? are they lubed? need shimmed? i started tearing off the nitro stuff on my yusa rally, and noticed the diffs seem a bit noisy.

I was gonna take mine apart last night. Have not ran it yet and was going to fill the 3 diffs with siilicone... Never got to it tho.. :( Im prety sure thery are just greased..

i will most likely get mine tore down tomorrow. i'm also going to try to look at thier sizes to see if other 1/8 diff parts will fit. it'll be nice if there is an easy hardend upgrade if its ever needed.

Mine were grease filled.

filled all three diffs with silicone and converted most of the aluminum parts to Carbon fiber, installed machined aluminum front hubs and installed a Tsais pipe.. Heres latest pics

I have the Power Racing stuff for the Katana, It looks like he has the same parts. The carbon was a direct fit, the front upper arm mount was not. I posted about it earlier in this thread.

I've trashed the stock one pretty well now and am in need of a good replacement. If not any idea's of others that may work?

anybody on here have the 2 speed, and is it shifting for you? my rally wont shift, and i can't find the problem.
