My LST and Muggy Conversion Thread

I haven't found pix of the Savage Battery trays yet... but I did see that Bdebde used a JConcepts Tango Revo body for his Muggy, and it fit great. Made me think that it would also fit on the LST2. Cool... another body option for the LST2.

I'm also wondering about the XXL. I know the big Ford F650 body fits, and I've heard that the Losi Racer body will fit too if you don't run a wing. I was thinking maybe the CEN Genesis bodies would fit, and some of the Redcat bodies too, But I don't know for sure.

I have the PL 72 chevy PU body for the 3.3Revo on my XXL and she fits great !
I think any body that fits the 3.3 revo should fit the XXL as well providing the nose isn't to sloped to give the front shock tops some room?

The Savage XL bodies will fit too.

Here is all I posted on those savage boxes, not complete as it has been one of those tinkering around builds (very slow).

*edit* I made my custom bottom plate to catch a couple spots under the trays, and will be using the mounts included with the batt boxes (with some mods) to attach the ends.

The screw hole that attaches to the rod will need to be drill out a touch as they are too small. I highly reccomend them. Great idea, but only IF you have a set up like this. I'm not sure where you would mount this stuff using a stock tranny and a Dude mount.

Not a problem!

JPop..the Muggy needs the braces - the chassis on it is notorious for bending. From what I know, LST's have a fairly rigid chassis.

Oh ok, I didn't realize the muggy were prone to flexing. Why is that? I know the layout of the chassis us different. Since the LST doesn't really flex, I just figured the muggy didn't either. Learned something there!

The Muggy has a flat truggy chassis (hence the name = part MT, part truggy) that bends very easily. Bracing is a must. I tied the front and rear bulkheads of mine together with a long piece of Al angle - works great.

The muggy doesn't have "good" chassis braces like most other truggies. Hence the need for custom stuff. When I bought the muggy roller, it had this 1/2" x 1/2" STEEL angle running from the front bulk to the back bulkhead!

I actually looked through our shoulder bolts here at work, and none of them in that diameter were long enough.

I know this is from a while back, but I finally found those threaded outer pins. STRC makes them.
