WOW. Tranny, slipper, braced motor and some really short Lipos. That looks pretty good. At least it's a bit different and not just a conversion which people have been complaining about.
No mechanical brakes though. What's the build quality like on the himoto cars? I'm cautious now as I was building a lesser know brand buggy for a friend and lets just say I won't be buying one. I won't name the brand though. |
I haven't owned a Himoto Kit either. Haven't heard feedback aswell
|
I really have to get my buggy back from mike before all these buggies start turning up on the track or I am going to look a bit silly.
|
those are really short lipos! great idea imo. lets see if its tough enough to handle the abuse of owners. looks really good though. best thing is, the weight should be very central and pretty even... those lipos look a bit small though. (2s each?)

edit: 3s packs going by the balance tab. |
Looks to be very high quality :D
Just wouldnt want to switch my lipo's over 2 the midget packs |
I wonder what the specs on the motor are. The lipos are 3s, so the motor will heat up quickly, and is probably equivelant to abouy a 7 or 8l feigao.
|
Maybe the packs are to be run in series and it's a 6s motor.
|
If I'm not mistaken, Himoto is OFNA(USA brand), so quality is very good. It looks to be an x1x or x2 cr.
Bye:mdr: |

So they're using a big motor with ~2100mah cells (could be 2p for ~4200mah), and a weird gear reduction unit. It's different than most, no doubt. But then again, so am I: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...t/IMG_3846.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...r/IMG_4290.jpg Those were two different buggies I converted with that same chassis configuration, and both used 8 Maxamps 2100mah 15C cells in 4s2p (14.8v 4200mah). Notice there's not much room for an ESC, especially a MMM... |
motor is 1800kv :D
not 3s...6s lol |

Ok, I remember now. I put a himoto wing on my ofna jamm crt, maybe that's why.
some of himoto's stuff http://www.amainhobbies.com/advanced...himoto&x=0&y=0 |
Only 2100mah though.
|
any more info about this buggy?
|
in germany it will be sold by gm racing and by conrad electronics (reely 1:8 ep brushless buggy).
yesterday I had it in my hands, looks good, solid, a bit heavy. lipo-boxes are small. i like the motor which is not a 36mm diameter, something around 40+ mm. himoto have been making buggys for many years, for other brands. I had once a 1:10 ep buggy which was originally made by himoto, very solid plastics. greetz florian |
Wow, are they TX lipo's or what. What kind of run times are they expecting from these Buggies?
|
hello,
is there any information about the motor? ist it a four pole rotor, or is it two pole? what does the manual say about the esc, is it capable of 4s o6s maximum? thanks florian |

Hi all new here and google found a hit searching for Himoto.
I have a Vega 1/8 Buggy with brushless 7.5R motor. This car came RTR and i use for long driving 7.4V 5600Mah Lipos and for speed i use 11.1V 2650mAh Lipos. I find it easy and fun to drive. Jumps and Crashlanding seams to be no problems and the handling is great. I have been checking out some pics of the Jammin and i find them wery alike. |
