buggy idea
hey i was thinking about doing a outrunnered powered xtm xt2. i already have the buggy. but was trying to find a good motor. i want to use 4 cell lipos and have speeds up to about 45.
would this be a good motor http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/108516.asp thanks |
i could run 5 cells also. i was looking at the speed calculator and it showed on 5 cells aobut 47mph. and thats right around where i want to be.

I think MetalMan had one of those at the bash and if I remember correctly and it ran great!.. You might want to PM him..

Yep, MetalMan had one in his HPI MT2. Very cool to watch it run because of the amount of torque it had.

Only problem with mine is that it uses a hardened steel motor shaft, so I couldn't drill a hole all the way through to fit the screw pin for the Jato output yoke onto the front of the motor. The result was that the set screw I used didn't want to stay tight, and the truck's loss of 4wd.
IMO, that 35 series motor is too small. You'll want to go with at least the 41 series. I have this in my MT2: http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/108521.asp That size of motor could probably work in an 1/8 buggy, but kv and voltage choice would determine the wind. |
