Measurement confirmation needed.

I'm wanting to buy a 6s 4200 mah Hyperion G3 VX 35c lipo for my flm savage. The measurements I have for the battery are L 136.3 W 42.8 H 54.7

The problem is I have room to fit the 42.8mm width, but I'm wondering if the measurements posted on Hyperions site are accurate? Does anyone here have this pack, and if you do could you give me exact measurements please? Thanx.

Mike

I have the 3s packs, which are made from the same cells... so the width would be the same.

I measured 43mm width, so yes it's correct. But you also have the wires that will come out which adds 3mm hump on the end of the pack.

Make sure you have a strong drivetrain, these things will knock the $hit out of your a$$. Great choice of pack, you won't be disappointed. :surprised:

Thats coming from a satisfied A123's convert...

Well if it weren't for these new gen lipo cells, I would still be using A123's... it's the cycle life and fast charging that really attracts me, the power is the bonus with these. I guess I have more of the mentality that goes along with full scale electric vehicle conversion and design. We people like things to be robust, and A123 cells for battery packs are exactly that.

Then why do you use gel cells in your toyota?

zeropointbug 07.08.2009 12:55 AM

gel cells? where. All I can see is AGM spiral wound...

Optima are gel cell

So I can replace the dulcolax with a G3? Are they gentle and predictable? Nothing like a unexpected thunderpoop while selling a job or trying to seal the deal with some hoe-bag at the club...

Nope they are Absorbed Glass Mat design. Basically they are like a wet battery but the electrolyte is soaked up by the glass mat. Optima also have the benefit of being spiral wound. I will say that I wish optima made a motorcycle battery, as they are doing a better job than the other AGM designs I have used. Both of my trucks have optima red tops, one that is about 8 yrs old... It sat on the floor for 5 of those years, and did not even need charging when I put it in the truck...

No man, the G3's might be too much for the average bum to handle, they can in some cases increase chances of blowing o-rings. Watch out.

On the floor for 5years? Well these have sat for 2 years now not being used, I have topped them up once, that was last year. I am telling you I am going crazy not having this project wrapped up... I have a fear I am going to have to go the brushed DC route for propulsion instead of 3-phase AC (crying ), so it will have less range and efficiency. The only benefit is the low cost and higher power output, 100 - 250hp, depending on if I run the batts 1p, or half voltage and 2p configuration.

BL_RVO, with all due respect, but please keep the ignorance out of RCM forums. Again, I say that with respek. Ali G

I have the exact pack, the VX LG335-4200-6S. It measures just like the datasheet said, Hyperion has re-calipered all their packs and had a new revision of datasheet, now its more accurate than before.

:gasp:
