Nope they are Absorbed Glass Mat design. Basically they are like a wet battery but the electrolyte is soaked up by the glass mat. Optima also have the benefit of being spiral wound. I will say that I wish optima made a motorcycle battery, as they are doing a better job than the other AGM designs I have used. Both of my trucks have optima red tops, one that is about 8 yrs old... It sat on the floor for 5 of those years, and did not even need charging when I put it in the truck...

No man, the G3's might be too much for the average bum to handle, they can in some cases increase chances of blowing o-rings. Watch out.
On the floor for 5years? Well these have sat for 2 years now not being used, I have topped them up once, that was last year. I am telling you I am going crazy not having this project wrapped up... I have a fear I am going to have to go the brushed DC route for propulsion instead of 3-phase AC (crying

), so it will have less range and efficiency. The only benefit is the low cost and higher power output, 100 - 250hp, depending on if I run the batts 1p, or half voltage and 2p configuration.
BL_RVO, with all due respect, but please keep the ignorance out of RCM forums.

Again, I say that with respek. Ali G
