Well the novak motors are different to a feiago in that they have a slotted stator. They share this with the neu motors, and before the firmware update the mm had issues getting them strated without cogging.

I have not seem what a slottled stator looks like, or really know how it differs from the other types. I do know that the segmented magnet (like a bunch of pennies stacked up to make a solid cylinder) are better for power production and effecientcy. The lehner and hacker c50 motors use these. The feigao uses a bonded magnet, like a mixture of magnet bits in epoxy from what I can understand. This is cheaper to manufacture, and not as good.

I do not know how many poles the novak motors have. Lehner, feigao, and hacker have 2 poles, as do the cc motors and the traxxas motor. Pletts have 4-6 poles, and the mega motors have at least 4 poles too.

Now the more poles the harder the esc has to work to get the motor to turn over 1 time. From my understanding the esc has to "fire" twice as much per motor revolution on a 4 pole as a 2 pole. That is why the higher pole counts have more torque.
