Bearing failures are extremely rare on the 2200 -- we use a high quality NMB bearing on the 2200 motors.
If a bearing failed after just one run -- immediately after another bearing failed in the same setup, I'd be a little suspicious of the setup, and I'd be concerned about the original rotor. If the rotor is bent (even a small bend) the bearing will fail.
Did the rotor get replaced as well?
The new front end cap doesn't change the bearing housing dimensions or tolerances.
