The Info that Patrick del Castillo provided on the ripple voltage being a problem on the MMM. I have searched through about 60 pages of threads and can't find it. Also any other pertinent info on the subject of batteries internal impedance being a problem.

I recently ran into a problem with my industrial controls that have a failure mode related to this and have built a circuit to keep this from happening (in my case anyway), I'll see if it will work for the MMM as well.

The Warnings & Cautions discussed in this manual cant cover all possible conditions/situations. It must be understood that common sense and caution are factors which cant be built into this product.
