Adding FETs to an ESC? - 03.19.2008, 11:00 AM

Hey guys, I've been a lurker around here for some time (lots of good info). This is I think my second post, but anyways.

I have a question for you guys, since you all seem to definitely know what you're doing.

Would it be possible to parallel the FETs (through "stacking" with some of the same exact FETs, one on top of each original FET) on something like a Novak XBR ESC to get double the amp handling capabilities? I'm curious, because I do have an XBR sitting in my TT-01, and I need something to tinker with...

I understand that FET stacking would accomplish this (not unlike what people do to their Mini-Zs so that they can use hotter motors).

So, would it be worth it? The ESC is long out of warranty, so if I fry it, it'll cost me all of 50 bucks or so. I have a Novak HV that is fried already (don't ask), so it'll give me an excuse to kill two birds with one stone.

Thanks in advance ya'll!
