Dimension Engineering Sport BEC - 01.26.2009, 08:58 PM

Is anybody using this BEC with their Sidewinder or MM ESC? Did you have to cut the red wire from the ESC? I just installed this BEC on my sidewinder without removing/cutting the red wire. Is this good or bad.

Thanks.

That BEC has a throttle cable pass-through, which just allows the negative and signal wires through. So, it automatically disconnects the red wire without having to mod the throttle cable.

God of knowledge... yeah, right.

I generally do the same (pull the red wire) in any BEC just to be consistent, but it's much easier to just use the pass-through feature. In the case of the SportBEC, you can actually follow the red wire PCB trace and you'll see it does not go anywehere on the BEC.
