A member on here Shonen used a ducted fan on one of his trucks, thing scooted around pretty well actually. Check around, he has a thread with all his builds.

WOW!!! That has ALOT more get up and go than other setups I have seen. Put some stubby wings on it with control surfaces and try to take off a jump :D

pretty cool man. i like what you got goin.

whats the max rpm at full throttle? you may be overtaking the useable rpm of the prop with a motor like that on there. as long as its below 12000 it should be alright though.

wow, that thing has a bunch more kick than my EDF-powered projects. Buggy chassis much lighter than monster truck.

how do you like the handling with all that weight behind its rear axle? my TT-01 handles like crap with its fan hanging behind its ass Even if it handles badly though, there's nothing like building something unconventional and taking a break from the norm.

A 1717 on 6s is 35k rpm, quite a way out of the efficiency range of a direct drive propeller (the air version is a heli motor, after all). My EDF setups have smaller blades and lower Kv motors, which is why I can crank them to 26k rpm and still have them thrust well.

Oh well. As long as you're having fun.

Try a wood prop. You'll get more thrust at higher rpm because it won't flex as much under it's own force. There will be higher A draw on the system as a result so watch temps.
