Associated RC8 Buggy - 02.03.2007, 08:57 PM

I thought this was a pretty interesting find.

The new associated 1/8 scale buggy!

http://rc10.com/shusting/CatalogHub/...rc8/kitrc8.htm

I think this would make for a very interesting conversion! I may try it myself, but not anytime soon. What you guys think?

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

Saw it on there website a couple days ago, but it does look really nice. All that black and blue look so nice together, lol. Hopefully this means tere is a chance of an electric 1/10 4wd buggy or st. That would be a really big hit. So many people are looking fro 4wd st's.

Mike L- I was thinking the same thing. That is what all the companies seem to be doing now-a-days.

This buggy was based on the Kyosho 777sp2... I heard this right from the top brass at AE. They put their own stamp on it of course. I think it's pretty sweet.

I think I will be selling my 777 conversion to get one of these. I race AE 1/10 buggy and truck and it would be cool to do the 8 conversion. I'm not ready to sell anything yet but once I get to see this buggy mine is probably for sale. Anyone interested in a nice BL buggy with counted hours of work done to it? :)

I thought I had some on here somewhere, lol. I guess I will go look for them, so you can see it one way or another. I'm kinda partial to my layout. :)

This looks like a good high voltage candidate with 4.3:1 front/rear ratios...

I dont think they will make a truggy yet, or anytime soon atleast.
This buggy looks to be one of favourites! Cant wait to see how it does on the track.

That ratio is usually used for the truggies, so that means a truggy should be following :004:.

SH Z-Car, Custom Crawler, 8s Savage, 12s XTM XLB 1/7 buggy, 4wd 4-link rear/IFS Pro4 truck, Custom Hyper 10 Short Course, Belt-Drive Mammoth ST 1/8 truggy, 4s 17.5 MM Pro HPI Blitz

Don't really need that ratio with the relative small tires.

Yeah, it could actually be a bad thing. With 2000 kv motors and 4s Lipo, you might need a 16t pinion with the 46t spur and 3.31:1 diffs, but with the 4.3:1 diffs you would need a larger pinion gear, maybe even one larger than 20t.

I am partial to your layout too. That is why my 8ight looks almost exactly like yours. Basically all I did was move the esc to the receiver tray. I wanted to keep it as far away from the battery as possible.
