Option A is nice and simple, but option B looks like it would protect more than just the bottom of the pumpkin. Only concern I'd have is for the option B design to catch dirt/rocks and make it easier to get into the gear mesh.

I voted option a, they are simple and to the point. I did not vote b for the reasons Brian mentioned.

The gears on a berg gearbox are sealed pretty good .

I go with B because I know the bergs are very expensive.. id want to protect them as much as possible from being damaged..

Could "Option C" be edited to say: "Make my own"? I used 22AWG T-304 SS. (1600x1200)



Otherwise I would go with Option B.

Metal is sticky which is the reason for the skid - They look nice but you need to coat them in teflon or such

Really... If you're on jagged rocks you would think soft plastic would get caught because the rocks would dig into it, whereas the harder metal would slide over. What I know for sure is it can't possibly be any worse than stock with all the little places for stuff to get caught in.

I voted C, I made my own from .060 sheet lexan. Which is very easy to do and works great.
