WTB: Emaxx BL Edition or Savage Flux? -

What should i buy, they are both the same price on Amain? i mean it basically comes down to the quality of the trucks since they are both powered by Castle.
savage flux all the way. it will take more abuse, the driveline is more solid, the motor mount is better IMO, HPI has a better warranty, there are more chassis related upgrades, it is just all-around better.
They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
Maxx's are OK, but the bulkhead design is over 10 years old and is totally inadequate to handling the impacts now with the extended arms (more moment - aka torque - on the hing pins), and the speed of new technology.
I will never buy a Maxx style vehicle until they revise the bulkhead design. Simply put, it sucks.
Either spring for the ERBE (E-Revo Brushless Edition) or get the Flux.
The ERBE is great, you might have to add RCM 1/8th diffs (depending on the voltage you run) and stiffer springs/oil and you'll have yourself one tough truck.
I would have to go with the flux as well. Maxx trucks are cool in their own way, and I will always own a 3905 (with my lst diff upgrade...) that is setup as stock as possible. Good lightweight truck, but the savvy can handle a beating better. Neither can hold a candle to a lst... I have all three (multiples of the lst and savages) and find them all fun in their own ways.
