Don't hold it over the motor for 10 hours. Just long enough to heat it up, so you can get your pinion off. Your not going to waste the motor. You could always pry it off, but you run a chance of bending the shaft. You can buy a new shaft if you need to. I suppose if they make a small enough gear puller you might be able to it that way. I don't know. I got one stuck and I just pryed it off with a screw driver. Yes, I did it slowly. I really doubt it's stuck that bad. You might just need a little pressure on it.
