So I finally decided to convert the muggy. I picked it up about 6 months ago real cheap and just decided to do something to it. I had it partially pulled apart as I pirated a few parts for the 6x6 lst build.

I have stripped it completely down, all the way to the diff internals. Rebuild all 3 diffs, with new hd losi cups on the rear and center. Put 30k fluid in the rear and center diffs, and 50k in the front. Seems to be about right for the 40 series tires, same weights in the lst and it puts the power down well.

All bearings cleaned and relubed, all cvds rebuilt too. It currently has lst1 arms and hubs on it, as I was waiting on the lst2 stuff to arrive. I took the original arms and hubs off for the 6x6. I may just run it like this and see how it holds up. I bent the rear tierod on the aftershock the first time i ran it, so I do not have high hopes for the lst1 arms....

So I put it all back together with a rcm mount, and some sort of 49t spur (no idea where it came from, got it with the muggy). I had to clearance the chassis where the spur sits, and also had to clearance the top plate. With the c50 and this spur I can run a 15t pinion to get around 40mph. I also went thru the shocks, all I had to do was clean the outsides and fill the front shocks.

I modded the stock radio tray to hold a single servo. Pretty easy to do, I just cut the throttle servo mount portion off, and drilled a hole in it to attach to the center post that hold the tray on. So it now has 2 front posts, and the center post as the rear support. Used a jato turnbuckle with revo pushrod ends to make a link to the saver. Still need to do the steering mod and add bearings.

Power system is a hacker c50 11xl (1476kv) with a MMM on 6s lipo. Stole the battery tray out of the lst, and made some risers out of delrin to clear the raised edge of the chassis. Made an esc mount out of the delrin. All of the delrin mounts are held in with screws thru stock holes on the chassis. I have not drilled one hole in the chassis. I also took the router to the delrin risers and made channels in them to route the MMM signal wire to the rec. Did the same to the esc mount so that I could put a ziptie on to hold the esc down. First time I have seem this, keeps the wire out of the way, and safe too.

Almost finished, just need to put a deans plug on the esc and program it. I will wait to dye the delrin parts, as I would like to do everything in one batch.

That is a rather clever idea with the routing, gotta like fewer wires dangling allover the place

Shame the servo lead isnt a bit longer- you could route it along and under the battery tray & have it emerging in the same spot as the esc's rx lead to plug into the rx.

That lead is a bit short. I will just ziptie it to the front chassis brace, the rec will go directly behind the front shock tower.

Ok, it is a great spur, I set the mesh and it is about as quiet as a plastic spur...

Seems like it, huh! My buddy who works at the fabrication shop brought a bunch of it to me. He said they used it to cover up polished stainless panels when they were welding on them. It is cut into weird stop sign shapes, but each piece is at least 1ft square... Free is free, and I hope it dyes well....

Nice work with the delrin.Muggy looks sweet!You get a chance to take those measurements on the 5b?Or will it be called the "5-J"?It should be interesting to see my beat-up-hand-me-down-worn-out-diff-breaking-tire-slinging-p.o.s- LST1 get beat up by your muggy

Welcome B! I need to get the 5j on the table and get some eyeballing done on the mount...

I am sure your lst will be every bit as gangsta as the muggy!

To everyone else B is my buddy who can weld al and get laser cutting done. He loves to make stuff and has some real fabricating talent! He gets me all kinds of material too, like the gangsta green (word) delrin that I have been making stuff with. He is also throwed off, so I am sure you guys will have a good laugh at us going back and forth like idiots...

I read you plan on putting 23mm 40series wabash wheels on your Muggy. Do they have the same offset as the losi 20mm 420series dishes?

Seems to be about the same offset as the 420 wheels, but I prefer the spoked look. A buddy gave me the wheels and tires in trade for a set of the same 40 series bowties mounted on 14mm dish wheels. I need to reglue them and balance them out. Got the 23mm CEN hexes coming, so the muggy will have some fresh shoes on it soon enough.

Are you sure you weighed them correctly? It just seems very light for a 40series wheel/tire combo. I believe you weighed the 40 series wabash/crimefighter combo @230grams? The stock weigt is 330grams. So I could save 400grams on rotating mass vs the stock setup?

I will weight them again, and weigh all 4 to make sure that it is not a fluke. The 0 offset is not the same as the losi 420 wheels. They look closer to a 1/2 offset. I will be buying some more proline wheels in half offset and we will see how they do. The O offset look good with the boltons on a savage that I have, not too wide.
