I'm still debating what shocks to use. I've got a drawing for a buggy shocktower,

but the innovative RC LST shocks look like business too. On the other hand, too heavy perhaps.. the new ofna 16mm bigbores.. or the good old ofna/UE shocks.. Proline powerstrokes perhaps.. but they are impossible to get replacement parts for.. even proline stopped carrying them..

What vehicle are the ofna/ue shocks from? I always wondered, cause they must be similar length to a stock maxx shock. Are they a front shock from an 1/8 ofna buggy?

Serum,

I am planning to use the Aftershock shocks instead of the LST2 shocks. They are the same size and design as the LST2 shocks, but they are made of plastic and ALOT lighter than the LST2 version. Many of the guys who race the LST2s use them to cut weight on the race rigs and they don't seem to have any durability problems. You can pick up parts and new shock sets from Ebay for a much more reasonable price than the InnovativeRC shocks.

I also have a set of the Ofna/UE shocks sitting here that may get a test run on this truck as well.

The Ofna LX buggy shocks are the same ones that UE uses on their setup if I'm not mistaken.

wow very nice pictures of this conversion kit.

Guess I will have to place my order tomorrow for this kit. :D

Before I do... will the LST shocks work with the stock lower arms or are the FLM arms a must to run the LST shocks?

Was going to get the FLM shock towers and LST shock stand offs... but not sure on the lower mounting the the Savage a-arm. The savage is an older SS kit.

The LST shock kit will work with the stock arms. I have updated the kit to include a spacer to take the area were the stock shock used to be. Or you could simply use the stock metal shock end.

Hey Jamie thanks for the update. How can I get my hands on just the update parts? I already have the rest of the kit here.

Ahh yes.... I see now. Thanks Serum. Those look simple enough that I can probably make my own.

How long are those spacers Jamie?

Well its official. I'm starting my Savage project. Placed an order today for the extended kit, a neu 1521, MGM 22418, 6s Lipo and a bunch of other parts. I am so tired of Nitro!!!! I have an LST 2 which is a blast except almost every time when I have some sort of issue. I live in houston and the weather makes tuning nitro an every time issue, then there are the batteries! Did I remember to charge the glow plug starter, tx pack, rx pack, spin start....... All I want to do is run it at whenever I am ready. I loved the truck but everything seemed to be a PITA all the time. My brushless vendetta on the other hand just needs a quick charge and its ready every time. I also have an E-Savage and was working on building her up, but as some of you know the e-sav drivetrain just isn't up to snuff for brushless, at least not the kind of brushless I'd like to run. After I saw this nitro conversion I was sold.

I'm looking forward to the build, always seems to be half the fun for me (I was a die hard lego kid.) I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes....

Shon

You can actually use the stock metal piece on the end of the shock end.
The spacer is .31 od .125 id and .235 thick.

Thanks Jamie, I can make something to get that to work for sure. I have some .31x.125x.250 spacers just like that in the hardware box. I just need to grind .015 off of the length and Ill be good to go.

I can think/work either way. I have been conditioned by my job. It depends on what plant and what suppier I am working with. I get specs in both and work back and forth all the time. It doesnt even phase me anymore.
