Hey Captian Harlock. Will the fun 480 motors fit in and run good in a 1/10 tc or st? And how about the twist motors, are they good for the cars and trucks?
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I looked at the Tango motors on towerhobbies and I'm starting to like the specs of them! High operating temperatures, segmented magnets, stainless steel cans, built in fan, and much cheaper than a 22 series (in my mind that is what I compare it to), the torque has to be great, because of the large diameter. The shaft is 5mm and is hardened steel too, which is a nice feature! They claim that the efficiency is 89%, which is really good. I may be looking into these in the near future.
EDIT: Look like it's only rated to 25,000 RPM! The 640 KV version on 37 volts (10s) would give 23,600 RPMs, but I don't know if that could still give good speed? I'm sure you could gear it really high with all the torque and low amp draws..?

The Twist motors are excellent car motors. I have even heard of a Twist 42 (400 size rotor) pushing a lightweight E-Maxx pretty well.
SH Z-Car, Custom Crawler, 8s Savage, 12s XTM XLB 1/7 buggy, 4wd 4-link rear/IFS Pro4 truck, Custom Hyper 10 Short Course, Belt-Drive Mammoth ST 1/8 truggy, 4s 17.5 MM Pro HPI Blitz

I have the Fun-480-42 motor and you can compare it to the lehner basic 4200 plus its smaller, segmented, nickle plated and lighter, but the problem is that you need to use a 450 size plate inorder to fit it in a 1/10 scale rig. Its also the same as the Twist- series( I also have the Twist-55 in my TB-Evo4MS and it can take down any touring car equipped with a decent brushed setup) the Twists are specifically made for 1/10 scale cars and they have an upper hand over the Hacker C40 in terms of torque and effeciency( a Hacker c40 is 500-600 watts rated and the Twists are 600-750 watts rated) . If you are planning to buy one of kontronik's motors, I strongly recommend the twists for touring cars and the Fun-500 and 600 for monster trucks.

What about the larger Tango motors? They look like they're a powerhouse!

Tango are not needed and the twist-42 is the way to go for off road.

The only motors which can handle 37 volts (what I'm running on)are the ones in the Tango line. Could the Tangos be similiar to a 22 series lehner motor in performance?

Its possible, but I think the 22 series has more RPM as far as I know.
