As for the motor, IMO you are looking too far into it. Most of the 380 motors in question are 2-pole Feigao clones anyway. The Castle 26mm might be a little better quality and efficiency, and they are on sale for $25 right now, so if you really don't want a VXL that might be a decent choice. They have 4600kv and 6800kv. But if you run the 6800kv on 3S it is probably going to get hot, and maybe fry anyway.

Look at what people in the thread are saying. So far 6 people have suggested that the stock VXL motor is just fine for the application.

I think I'm gonna get the Castle 4600kv 540 motor, and pair it with a waterproof esc, probably the Mtroniks G2

seriously dude... stick with the stock system or a motor from Hobby King with the same dimensions...

The castle motors are too short for an e revo... and the 540's make them handle like a pig...

I'm not too bothered about handling, it will just be a backyard basher. My mate has a CC 4600kv motor in his touring car, its a pretty small motor...
