Need more power.....

My setup at the moment is a BASIC 2000XL, and 7020 with 18cells providing the juice. My problem is, I would like a bit more power. I'm considering either getting a wanderer 9XL, or keeping my current set-up and running it on 20cells. My two questions are:

1)Will the 9XL be more powerful than my 2000XL and will it run safe on 18cells with a warrior 7020?

2)Will my little 2000XL be able to handle 20cells, it already runs pretty hot on 18?
