They could've waited until a system was ready and then that tittle "NEXT" would make sense to me.

I semi agree. I think they also know that people like to use other systems as well. This leaves it open to the purchaser and keeps the price down.

I think cost is their main concern. I imagine for every 3.3 Revo they sell (their most expensive vehicle aside from the large gas buggy), they probably sell 2 Maxx vehicles or maybe 3 Bandit/Rustler/Stampedes. Most folks aren't going to walk into a hobby shop off the street and want to drop $500 on a RTR BL vehicle unless it's advertised at at least the speeds of the nitro vehicles.

Put it like this. Most of the members here have a brushless system and would not even bother going back to the old set up. Most spend over $500 just to get a decent BL system. Now if Traxxas came out with a RTR BL version for around $500-600, I think it is a bragain.

you have to remember we are die hards here. Most of the people that have rc truck's are not willing to spend the kind of money on our toys as we do here in my opinion . I bet we are a very small percentege of the intire rc market

At this moment, I'm having the biggest headache trying to get my 200A controller done, but I might be out of luck. The engineer sent me an e-mail saying that the PCBs used on the controllers were samples and a few of them failed. He said he could do a 100A 15S, but the 200A would've been awesome. I can get a motor with similar design as the Align 600L/XL motors, but much bigger and I will get a custom chassis done as well. If I add all the price, including some profit, I can have a ARTR super truck for around $600. All you would need is your favorite radio. Most would think $600 is expensive, but you will get a ESC, motor, Lipos and a rock solid truck. I'm nodoby compared to Traxxas and I know they have a big overhead, but they can make their own ESC and motor which for sure would be cheaper than the one I can get.

You can put me down for one of your super trucks Lutach, just get the design finalized, tested and cerified before christmas. And let me know who will offer parts support and I will get my buddy at the lhs to sign up so that I can get parts from him. And make sure that it has some instructions, maybe a exploded diagram. And some sort of tech support would be nice too, with some english sounding people on the other line. Maybe some attractive females, I know that Neil would buy one, just for the social aspect!

The drive train that is working for me right now is from the Hot Bodies line of 1/8 scale vehicles. Everything else will be straight forward. Most of my vehicles doesn't have instructions (BPP turggy, Mr. C MBX5T and my custom TC3 Truggy) and I work on them without an issue. I will make sure it will be easy to work on.

now that I think is so true. sometimes we spend so much on them that when someone asks you really dont even want to give a real number. I mean $300 motor, $280 esc, $200 battery, $120 servos the list just goes on and on. Good thing for me that as soon as I start to run one of my trucks I forget about the $$$ and just try to enjoy it.

When somebody asks me how much my trucks cost, I always lowball too. It's embarrassing to admit how much I spend on these toys!

Dont you guys remember when they updated the rustler/bandit/stampede, They came out with the "new and inmproved" XL5 version first. Basically discontinued the older version and then 6 months later or so the VXL showed up. I'd be willing to bet that we see the VXL Emaxx within the next 6-8 months and then the E-Revo.
I work in product development and they need to have a product road defined. They develop and release these things in a methodical/specific order to maximized the money they make. If they cam out with an e-revo, alot of the potential emaxx customers would skip it and go for the e-revo. This way they sell you the new Emaxx, then an E-revo later. They get money from yur pocket twice. Nothing wrong with it, just the way the world works.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
