Well, in terms of availability of hopups and upgrades i would go for the e-maxx.

The new emaxx will be tougher than the e-savage, allthough it might require an upgrade on the steeringknuckles. they are known to pop off.

you could also keep your own maxx and invest in some FLM parts, they are fair priced. Their chassis is only 90 bucks and it's a great product.

The drivetrain of the new and improved maxx is much tougher than the original design. the combination of the new upgraded diffs and the revo driveshafts could be the ticket to a tough as nails setup. (the flex of the shafts help it to stay in one piece)
