I have some stuff like that on the bottom of my carbon fiber e-maxx chassis. Definitely saves the chassis from the normal scuff marks, as long as you replace the film once it start getting bad. If you land in the middle of a pointy rock it's not going to save you though obviously.
The only thing annoying about it is you have to make holes in it when you want to take some screws in the chassis out.
