I really don't get why people have a problem with faster motors and efficiency being lower. The efficiency curve of most motors is pretty high up to the last ~20% of the rpm range from what I've seen (Griffins program). Actually, too low of an rpm is less efficient.

My main thing with low kv is the less restrictive gearing, especially with these bigger 5mm shafts. I might not be able to buy 4 pinions (i use only mikes) at 15.00 or so apiece, the lower kv allows me to settle for something not necessarily right but i won't burn it down. I plan to try something, I have a 2250 lehner 10t motor (1184kv) I plan to put this in a 8T on 5s for starters, i only have a quark 125 that has a chance to run this beast right now. In my twinforce, center diffed (51 tooth mod-1) with 1/8 buggy gearing the motor can pull a 19 tooth pinion, I figure with truggy diffs, i should be able to do the same easily on 5s and eventually 6s

Another thing, I have a bad habit of taking a path less followed. if someone recommends something, I have gone another route, not to insult them, but that's the established route, I look for different options. I guess it comes from my slotcar days, People wanted rpm's, I wanted torque

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
