It's called specialty shop attitude and it's the reason I don't frequent many specialty shops.

You hit the nail on the head.

To gearhead, I can think of two options:

1. Stop going to the shop and find another, or order online

2. If you don't want to buy online and this shop is the only place around you then your best bet is to learn as much as you can here, do lots of research and really learn your stuff, then when you go in to the shop be confident about what you want to buy and how you are setting up your vehicles. Show them you don't need their help or opinions or condescending treatment.

I agree, my only local hobby shop is pathetic, the only reason I get "some" of the parts I need when I walk in is because I am running a Revo, anything Truggy, FORGET about it! Half the stuff I need if I walked in I would have to order. PLUS, they buy from another online hobby shop, so the prices for parts are pretty well at least 40% more on average. I'm done with my LHS.
