That's a lot of crud inside the esc- it is a good idea to use some sort of screen or mesh material ( old stockings or tights ) over the intake atleast to prevent too much dirt getting sucked in, or over the whole esc even ( fine mesh won't restrict airflow ).

Non-warrenty repair is still ~$75 last time I checked:
